So, you live outside of the United States and would like to place an order with us? You probably have a lot of questions about the shipping procedure. We will try to cover all of them here and show you how uncomplicated it is.

First important thing you need to know is that we at Kaefer-Nostalgie are shipping between 5 to 10 international packages (from small to big) every day. Just some information that can help you understand that it actually works for all our customers!

Unlike other businesses who only ship UPS or Fedex, we are more flexible and ship worldwide using USPS (United States Postal Service). What are the benefits of this? Well, it is basically a matter of costs. Figure you live in Germany and want to buy a set of window winder handle knobs to replace the worn ones in your Split Beetle. If we were to ship them using FedEx or UPS this would cost around $100 just to ship a small part that is really small and lightweight. Instead, we put them in a small envelope or flat rate boxwhich will cost no more than $7 and they will most likely be delivered by your postman at your door step in 7 to 10 days. Of course, there are customs in every country in the world so packages can be held by them and there is a chance that you will have to pay a fee to get them out. However, this is not the rule when it comes to small packages as they get delivered without much hassle all over the world. If you still prefer to have your items shipped UPS or FedEx we can do that, of course.

What about delivery times? USPS offers a wide range of worldwide services, from which you will be able to choose when you do the check out. There is basically 3 big options: First Class, Priority and Express Mail. The rule is always the same: the more expensive, the faster the service will be. First Class can take up to 20 days to be delivered while Express Mail is usually only 5-7 days.

Can I trace my packages? USPS is much cheaper than UPS or FedEx. Unfortunately, if we are shipping a small part for $7 instead of $100 we can't expect the same quality of tracking service they supply. Express Mail has the best tracking available from USPS. you can follow the package from start to end point. First Class and Priority Mail do NOT have tracking numbers. You still get something from them though, which is called the "customers form number" which you can use as a tracking number but will only show the status of the package until it leaves the origin country. So, you will be able to know when your package left the US. All the tracking can be done online at www.usps.com

So, do not be afraid and give us a try. You will see how easy international e-commerce has become lately!
